Early morning flying

Last weeks, we often flew very early. Wake up at 3 am, van to school at 4, take off at 5.20, as the sun rises. Its very early and a hell to get out of bed, but once in the aircraft you mostly get a very nice early morning scenery to start the day! The pictures speak for themselves.

Another advantage is that it’s very calm and stable to fly that early. Once the sun starts warming up the surface, huge bells of warm air start to rise and this gives a lot of turbulence (convection). Flying patterns and approaches in turbulent conditions is another job…
